Creating this piece was inspired by the duality of Lewis Hamilton’s career and the constant evolution of his identity as both a driver and a competitor. The scene of him in his old Mercedes suit with his sponsors slowly seeping away, gazing down at the puddle in the crack of the tarmac, represents a moment of reflection and introspection. The puddle reflects him in a Ferrari suit, a subtle nod to the “what if” moment—before he made his iconic switch. It symbolises the crossroads in his career, a time when his future was full of uncertain choices.
